Applying for a new home can feel overwhelming, but with a little preparation, the process can move quickly and smoothly. Our goal is to help you get approved as fast as possible so you can settle into your new home without unnecessary delays.
Provide Complete and Accurate Information
One of the easiest ways to speed up your application is by filling out all fields in the form. The more details you provide, the less back-and-forth is needed, which helps us review your application faster. Be sure to upload a valid photo ID and at least two recent pay stubs (or other accepted proof of income- see below) with your application to avoid delays.
Apply Together and Submit Required Profiles
To streamline the process, all applicants and guarantors should submit their applications at the same time. This keeps everything moving forward without gaps that can slow things down. If you have pets—or even if you don’t—you’ll also need to complete the required PetScreening profile. This applies to pets, service animals, and “no pet” households, and is often a step that holds up applications when left incomplete.
Understand Income and Guarantor Requirements
Along with credit history, proof of income is one of the biggest factors in application approval. Income can be combined between applicants, and acceptable documentation includes recent pay stubs, a benefits statement, Social Security benefits, or a tax return from the most recent year. If you don’t meet the income requirements, some properties may allow for a guarantor. Guarantors must earn four times the monthly rent and provide the same proof of income as an applicant.
